Programs of Study

Web Design
The mission of this program is to prepare students for professional opportunities in the information industries. The program focuses on the use of electronic technology while incorporating the basic theories of graphics, text, audio, video, and interactivity. Students are guided through a balanced curriculum that provides them with the expertise to design vehicles that strengthen the interplay of ideas.

The Associate of Science Degree in Web Design combines the fundamentals of computing, digital audio and video, graphics, layout, interactivity and web technology, as well as general education courses intended to foster critical thinking. Students will gain skills in designing computer screen, computer animations, video productions and soundtracks as well as the creation of storyboards and scripts based on client needs.

Facilities include cross-platform computer labs incorporating industry-standard software along with a soundstage and post-production equipment. Learning is further enhanced with instant high-speed internet access. The faculty consists of working professionals providing students with access to the latest industry practices.

Computer Animation
The Associate of Science degree in Computer Animation will provide students with both the conceptual and technical skills needed to enter the field of computer animation, utilizing Silicon Graphics workstations and SoftImage or Alias/Wavefront software.

Strong foundations in storyboarding, drawing, characterization, modeling, and animation are coupled with training in digital video and audio, as well as professional post-production techniques.

Additional coursework in interactive media and game design provide further application of animation skills, and a foundation of general education course work to round out the student's knowledge base. As students work toward program completion, they produce projects for competition and a portfolio that prepares them to start their careers.

Fashion Design
The International Academy's Program in Fashion Design is demanding, technical, comprehensive, and state-of-the-art. Students are given a solid foundation in fashion illustration, pattern drafting, design, draping, clothing construction, textiles, fashion history and production techniques. All of the instruction is presented using industrial grade equipment in spacious and comfortable facilities built for optimum fashion design. Students are encouraged to realize their potential with inspiration provided by visiting designers and artisans with local and/or international reputations who conduct special lectures and workshops.

The fashion design curriculum is a sound educational program with a particular mission of service to the fashion and related professions and industry. The fashion design department works diligently to achieve the following objectives:
prepare students for professional careers
develop creative individual thinking
develop in its students a sense of uniqueness
A balanced curriculum provides students with the expertise to design and communicate their ideas combining theoretical elements of design with creative and practical approaches to the dolution of problems pertaining to the functional quality of marketable products.

Students may receive an Associate of Science Degree in Fashion Design and Marketing or a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Fashion Design and Marketing.

Interior Design
The Interior Design departmental mission is to prepare students for professional opportunities in the field of Interior Design in order to enhance the function, quality and safety of interior spaces. The Interior Design Program attracts students who want to be challenged both creatively and technically, people who have aesthetic sensitivity and who understand the importance of using space effectively and efficiently. The student is guided through a balanced curriculum that provides him/her with the expertise to design and communicate his/her ideas.

Associate of Science Degree in Interior Design
During the studies leading to the Associate of Science Degree in Interior Design, emphasis is placed on technical development, intellectual disciplines, communication skills, cultural enrichment and creative sensitivity. Basic areas covered include drafting and detailing, specialized knowledge of interior visual communication and design, space planning and environmental design and general education.

Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design
In the profession of Interior Design, a Bachelor's degree is often a requirement for upper management positions and, as a result, the Academy offers a program leading to a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design. The program is designed so that students are able to gain additional professional experience and internships while adding depth and breadth to their knowledge of Interior Design.

This combination of conventional and electronic techniques offers students a balanced and well-rounded knowledge base essential to successfully perform and communicate in this industry.

Associate of Science Degree in Graphic Design
The Associate of Science Degree in Graphic Design program combines the fundamentals of computer graphics, advertising and design, and general education courses in order to offer students a well-rounded comprehensive course of study. The objective of the program is to provide students with the skills necessary to function as a graphic designer, package/product designer, marketing/advertising designer, illustrator or media designer.
